Hourly Wage: $37.16 / hour

Hours of Work: 7:00am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday, weekends as needed/requested

Work Location: Various jobsites across southern Ontario

Job Type: Permanent, full-time, 44 hours/week

Job Requirements:

• 5 years of more experience performing the list of job responsibilities below
• Possess a Carpenter license
• Ability to supervise 1 – 2 people as well as instruct apprentices as needed
• Possess your own small tools and safety boots
• Possess a valid driver’s license and willing to travel
• Ability to work in physically demanding work environments with tight deadlines, handling large workload, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, and with a combination of standing, sitting, and walking
• Ability to work at heights, noisy, and at times dusty
• Possess accurate judgement
• Client focused with effective interpersonal skills
• Possesses good values and ethics
• Reliable and a team player
• Capable of producing estimates for costs and materials

Job Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements;
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes;
• Use measuring tools;
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials;
• Build foundations, layout floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems;
• Fit and install window, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware; and
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
