The project at Elmvale DHS consisted of repurposing two of the existing classrooms into a large Family Studies Kitchen Room and a Storage Room. The Family Studies Kitchen received new finishes all throughout, including new millwork, quartz countertops/backsplash, demonstration mirrors at the instructor’s desk, appliances, display boards, floor finish, paint, and new ceilings. New slab on grade and new underground plumbing was required for the new sinks all around the classroom, as well as a new HVAC system including fire dampers, fire suppression system, and new electrical work to accommodate the new space layout and the users’ needs. The Storage Room also received new finishes throughout the room.
