This project involved the construction of a new addition to the existing school including 4 student classrooms, 2 kindergarten classrooms, as well as teachers’ workrooms, storage rooms, coat rooms, gender specific washrooms and one Universal Washroom. The scope of work includes Site works (excavation/backfill, asphalt paving for additional parking lot) new fence and gate, landscaping, concrete foundations of the new addition, slab on grade, housekeeping pads. Masonry works (the new addition wall assemblies consist of block wall, insulation, and masonry veneer). Structural steel scope of work includes new joists, metal deck, beams, channels to support new roof. Finishes in the new addition includes new finish carpentry, drywall and finished ceilings, floor finish (ceramic and vinyl tiles), painting, whiteboards, coat racks, toilet partitions, metal shelving, washroom accessories and window blinds. Mechanical work includes fire suppression, plumbing, new HVAC system with boilers, unit heaters and new roof top unit, building automation system. Electrical work involves new power system, hand dryers, classroom control panels, lighting equipment and lighting control, data, communication, phone and PA system.
